My Story

1938 to 2007
aged: 68
From: Liverpool

BERNARD BURNS
or bernie as we all knew him, was a great man, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Bernie died aged 68 on the 12th of January 2007 in the arms of his beloved Lillian(nan) to whom he spent many happy years married.

Born 14th September 1938 he spent the early stages of his life in Liverpool before later moving to Worcester.

Holidays were a major part of Bernie's life spending more time each year abroad than your average cabin crew.

A true family man with so many grandchildren you struggle to list them but here goes;

steven, jenny, nikki, hayley, ashton, bubsy (paul), craig, gemma, liam, lyndsey, kirsty, stacey, dean, kieran, kelsey, kenzie, olivia and one on the way, and i'm sure there's some I've missed. The odd few great grandchildren, joseph, libby, david, logan and bailey. We are all missing you.

A window cleaner by later trade he was loved by all the customers on his round. Assisted on and off by his beloved sons Warren and Ross.

My fondest memories of grandad were when he would come to our house and get me to drop him off at a local pub. When i came back an hour or so later he would be surrounded by a group of random strangers to whom he had made freinds. This was the type of man he was, no matter where he went he would talk to anyone especially when he had a few beers.

The bookies round the corner in Worcester maybe going bankrupt very soon not being able to take his money off him, mind you he had few good wins, he would always tell me that anyway!

His collectibles or antiques may leave behind a few quid as i was joking with nan earlier today that we will probably find a million pound plate or something in his stash.

Grandad gave up nearly all his vices in the end, smoking and drinking, but it was too late and he told me they didn't tell him they would make him ill when he started and he didn't understand how anyone would want to harm themselves. So for those of you who are reading this try giving up a vice for Bernie before its too late for you!

Rest in peace with your dogs. Miss you always xxxx
